Start-up, Co-funding, and Project Financing
The Research and Transfer Pool (FTP/RTP) of the University of Passau serves as an instrument for start-up, co-funding, and project financing. The official guidelines are available on the university network. The FTP/RTP consists of three funding lines:
- Proposal Funding provides start-up funding for the preparation of external funding applications and can be applied for at any time.
- Own Contribution enables the financing of the university’s own contribution required in externally funded projects and can also be applied for at any time.
- Project Funding supports independent small-scale research projects without thematic restriction but with a clear research focus. Applications can only be submitted during specific calls.

The Division III – Research Services must first be informed about your planned application and project. The draft proposal will then be checked for formal compliance and, if necessary, scheduled for a meeting of the University Executive. If you are applying for co-funding by the university, please submit your application early enough to ensure that a decision can be made before your external funding proposal is submitted.
