First selection round
Applications must be submitted online. The online application form will be shown on this page during the application round.

These 'soft' factors, which are determined based on the answers in the 'Other' heading in the online form, must be described in detail and any supporting documentary evidence must be provided, e.g. a current medical certificate or an official letter from the student welfare section of the Student Services Association (Studentenwerk), one of the Church student societies or another similar recognised institution.
Please do not ask the faculty administrations for any supporting letters. - Statements not sufficiently backed up by supporting documents will not be taken into account. Therefore, we ask you to carefully check all provided Information prior to sending off the application.
You may apply for a scholarship even if you are currently applying for a degree programme starting in the winter semester and have not yet been enrolled. You will need to submit your enrolment certificate after you enrol, but we must be in receipt of this by the time you receive your final scholarship approval.
If you have not yet started your studies in Passau, your academic performance will be evaluated based on the following documents:
- Those applying for a place on a bachelor's degree programme: The final grade/mark/result of your university entrance qualification.
- In most countries, the university entrance qualification is the secondary school leaving certificate.
- If you have not yet received your university entrance qualification certificate, you may submit a transcript/list of marks instead.
- Those applying for a place on a master's degree programme: Your previous bachelor's degree certificate and transcript.
- If this has not yet been issued to you, you may submit a current official transcript showing your average mark instead.
Please note that, unless your documents are written in English or German, you should submit official English or German translations. This includes degree and school certificates. Certificates issued in a language other than German or English will not be taken into account.

A first pre-selection is carried out after the application deadline has passed. Applicants who are short-listed for the second round will receive an e-mail asking them to submit further documents; a two-week deadline will be set. These documents are:
