The programme places a special emphasis on transdisciplinary research. The aim is to give students insight into the various subjects linked to visual culture studies and familiarise them with the methods used. Transdisciplinary modules will cover the knowledge, theories and methods of digital image processing, art history, art education, and visual literacy, in communication and media studies as well as political science, geography, semiotics of culture and philosophy. Real-world case studies will be provided to illustrate their practical application.
The degree programme will qualify students for all professional fields requiring them to work with images and visuality, such as in research institutions, archives, libraries, museums, and documentation centres, stock agencies, and equip them with skills needed for press work, picture desk jobs, corporate and science communication, advertising, community management, data visualisation, visual storytelling, imaging or market research.
