Film Journals in Central Asia

In the early 2000s, a number of journals were launched that were specifically devoted to cinema. Many journals appeared only for brief periods, and irregularly. This site tries to compile an archive of those journals, but there are gaps.

EvraziaKino, Kazakhstan

The journal EvraziaKino was launched in July 2005 by Kazakhfilm, with Sergei Azimov as CEO and Gulnara Abikeyeva as editor in chief. (The first and third issue are missing).

Kinoman, Kazakhstan

The journal Kinoman was founded by Darejan Omirbayev and appeared from 2005 until 2008.

Territoria Kino, Kazakhstan

The journal Territoria Kino (Kino Alany) was established in 2009, following on from Evrazia Kino. It was published by Kazakhfilm under its new director, Ermek Amanshaev, with Gulnara Abikeyeva as editor in chief. It was scheduled to appear 12 times per year.

KinoForum, Moscow

The journal KinoForum was published between 2002 and 2007, with four issues per year, by the Confederation of the Unions of Filmmakers. Its editors were Elena Stishova and Konstantin Shcherbakov.
